A weak digestive system leads to the problem of improper eating, bloating, gas, indigestion, acidity, and erratic bowel movements, which in turn disrupts metabolic fire further causing ‘Mandaagni’ (a root cause of nearly all ailments). An unhealthy digestive system makes your body store toxic materials in the form of ‘Ama’.
Switching to Ayurvedic Aharcharya and ‘Dinacharya’ improves your metabolism and regularizes bowel movements naturally. It emphasizes on:-
- Eating according to your ‘Dosha’, or body type (Everybody has an individual body type/Prakriti).
- Eating according to the seasons (Diet should be modified as per seasonal and diurnal variations).
- Eat locally and fresh whenever possible.
- Eat with awareness and presence and also cook or source food that is made with joy and mindfulness.
- Observe how you feel after you eat.
- Exercise regularly. Choose exercise as per your body type.
- Avoid ‘Adhyashan’ (Eating before digestion of previous food) and ‘Vishmashan’ (Taking food irregularly or without following a particular time).
